Celebrate NZ Music Month with Imani-J at Elma Turner Library

Join us for a special live performance by 17-year-old Kiwi/Haitian singer-songwriter Imani-J (Alyahna Sanson-Rejouis).

From kapa haka and school choirs to writing and performing in English, Te Reo Māori, and French, Imani-J's music blends genres with ease-from waiata reo and pop ballads to indie rock, electronic-pop, and more. Now embracing her mixed heritage, she's shaping a fresh sound rooted in RnB, Neo-Soul, and Afro Beat.

With her debut EP set to release in 2025, Imani-J is an exciting new voice you won't want to miss.
