The Abel Tasman region is not only renowned for its walking tracks and spectacular beaches, its vineyards and wines but also for its arts and crafts. Whatever you'd like to try your hand at, I'm sure you'll find something to do here.
Rough Island Recreation Reserve, Rough Island, Nelson
Join Us for a Free Group Run or Walk on Rough Island
Meet just before the causeway to Rabbit Island (past the Tic Toc Road entrance) for a 2:30pm start.
Choose from a range of scenic off-road loops, from 2km to 10km. Whether you're a runner or a walker, beginner or experienced, member or not-everyone is welcome! The event is especially child-friendly thanks to the safe, off-road tracks.
Everyone starts together, and you're free to go at your own pace. Plan for about an hour of activity, with most people finishing around the same time at the starting point.
No registration, no timing-just turn up and enjoy.
If you're new to Rough Island, aim to arrive by 2:20pm to chat with the Event Coordinator and find the best loop for you or connect with others doing a similar distance.
Afterwards, head to Club Waimea in Richmond for a relaxed social catch-up.
Free event.
