Kaiteriteri Beach

Kaiteriteri is the seaside holiday destination of choice for South Island Kiwis and has been for decades. It's golden beaches and wide variety of accommodation offer an excellent holiday location.

Kaiteriteri beach, great holiday destination offering excellent accommodation Enjoy kayaking from Kaiteriteri Have fun on Kaiteriteri If travelling from Nelson, Kaiteriteri is situated 13 km north of Motueka and just south of the Abel Tasman National Park. It's golden beaches are covered in inviting peach-coloured sand crystals.

The water is a beautiful clear turquoise and is soothingly warm. Kaiteriteri is composed of several bays and beaches: Kaiteriteri, Little Kaiteriteri, Stephens Bay, Tapu Bay, Dummy Bay, Towers Bay, Ngaio Bay and Split Apple Rock. There are many gorgeous bay to bay coastal walks for when you'd like to stretch your legs.

You will not be at a loss for things to do in Kaiteriteri. It is a popular place from which to catch the aqua taxis to the Abel Tasman National Park, cruise the bays or hire kayaks and go out and explore the coast and small islands.

The water taxis and shuttles are an experience in themselves. Sit back and enjoy stunning views as you listen to the informative and entertaining narrative from the captains. The taxis and tours will take you to see the seal and gannet colonies and sometimes you'll be lucky enough to attract dolphins to play in the boats' wake.

Sailing tours are another way to get out on the water and enjoy the coastal sights or you could choose to get active and be part of a team paddling around the sites in a traditional Maori Waka.

Or take a day cruise with Abel Tasman Charters and enjoy the bays.

The Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park is a superb facility with many different tracks in a lush bush setting, accommodating beginners to experts. Bikes can be hired from the town. The same hillside (different tracks) has walking and exercise pathways. A beautiful way to start the day, enjoying the fresh New Zealand bush track, greeted by the cheerful tuis, bellbirds and fantails while stopping at intervals to do the bodyweight exercises.

Kaiteriteri has camping grounds, motor camps, bed and breakfasts, holiday homes and backpackers. The small town has cafes, restaurants, petrol station, playground, mini-golf and general store, making it a genuinely magnificent place to make those special holiday memories.
